Queen Elizabeth Safari in Uganda – 3 days tour will take you to visit the famous Queen Elizabeth National park for 3 days, rich in diversity, with excellent weather condition as it is bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains in the west of the Great African Rift Valley. The park provides an ultimate feast for all senses; you will enjoy the sight of a crater lake full of glorious flamingos, the bat cave in the extraordinary Maramagambo forest and the chance of sighting of the legendary Shoebill Stork or the amazing vista from the Mweya Peninsula.

Description

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth Park

In the morning at 0700hrs pick up from your hotel in Kampala and depart for western Uganda to Queen Elizabeth park. The park is set in the western rift valley and runs from the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori to the Ishasha border post in the south. The Park has a vast bird diversity of 611 recorded species, of which there are both endemic and migrant Albertine species. The journey is comfortable with a stop over at the Mpambire drum makers, coffee plantation and the equator, Proceed to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch drive westwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving past large tea and banana plantations. The drive takes you through some craters along the road and the unique western rift valley escarpment. There are chances of viewing rare animals and birds. The park is a home to lions, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, bushbucks, and the rare occasional leopard. Dinner and over night on the peninsular overlooking Lake Edward and the lush Kazinga channel at Mweya Safari Lodge FB

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth (Kyambra Gorge and Kazinga Channel)

Early morning breakfast, at 0700hrs drive to Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling Chimpanzee safari. Your guided walk may last three to five hours and in addition to seeing the chimps, the trip may yield sightings of the colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed and velvet monkeys, and other primates. It is important to note that the chimpanzee safari is subject to availability of permits and good weather because occasional flooding can make the trails impassable. After lunch, have a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel one that joins Lakes Edward and George. The cruise is a wonderful way to see hippo, buffalo, kob and occasional Nile crocodile and a spectacular bird watching on the water bank. Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and over night at Mweya Safari Lodge FB

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Kampala

Rise very early for a morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You will be likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, water buck and stripped jackal and of-course the comical warthogs. At 0830hrs back to the lodge for breakfast, and after breakfast, check out and travel back to kampala having lunch on the way. Optional stop over at Mpambire Drum makers or at curio shops along the road, in case you need to buy souvenirs.
